Prince Harry’s regal bearing failed to impress one little boy honoured for battling against personal adversity.
When the Royal was first introduced to Alex Burke, a six year-old who has a genetic condition where non-cancerous tumours grow around his body, the youngster asked: ”Where’s your crown, where’s the Prince?”
The Prince, 25, replied: ”I’m here, you have to make do with me.”
But the six year-old appeared more interested in blowing bubbles from a small pot of soapy water.
After a few moments, however, the youngster jumped into the Prince’s arms and continued filling the air with bubbles.
The Prince met the brave six-year-old at the star-studded WellChild awards ceremony in central London.
He is patron of WellChild, a UK-based charity dedicated to meeting the need of sick children and their families.
Its children’s nurses provide specialist medical care and direct support in the home for chronically sick children and their families.
Alex’s mother, Sarah Burke, 26, from Manchester had travelled with her son to the capital to see him presented with the Bravest Child award for two to five year-olds from Harry, for efforts battling his condition.
