Amy Winehouse divorces husband Blake Fielder-Civil

Singer Amy Winehouse and her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil were divorced on Thursday after she admitted adultery in court papers.

Fielder-Civil, 27, was granted a “quickie” divorce from the 25-year-old star at a hearing in central London.

Neither party was present for the proceedings – lasting a matter of seconds – before District Judge Michael Segal at the High Court’s family division.

Their case was listed as Fielder-Civil B v Winehouse A J in a case of 25 divorces.

The couple were married in May 2007 in Miami.

Fielder-Civil was granted the decree nisi from the singer on the grounds of her adultery.

In divorce papers before the court it was stated that Fielder-Civil “finds it intolerable to live with the respondent”.

In a question and answer style document Fielder Civil is asked: “State briefly your reasons for saying that the respondent has committed the adultery alleged”.

He answered: “The respondent confessed the adultery to me in April 2008.”

He says that since April 2008 he and Winehouse had not lived in the same household.

Fielder-Civil, whose address is given as Claypole, Newark, and who describes himself as a music video producer, is also asked in the question and answer document: “Do you find it intolerable to live with the respondent?”

He answers: “Yes.”

The name of the person with whom the singer is alleged to have committed adultery is stated as “not known” in the document.

In a separate divorce document Winehouse is asked: “Do you admit the adultery alleged in the petition?”

The star answers: “Yes.”

She also states that she did not object to paying the cost of the proceedings.

Winehouse says she received the divorce petition in April this year while in St Lucia.
