Fold-Pak is known as top name in Chinese restaurant to-go boxes
Category Business | Sunday, March 7th, 2010Operating around the clock in Hazleton, Fold-Pak annually stamps out 200 million pieces of a product only a handful of local people might buy, but almost everyone has used.
Fold-Pak, a paper mill subsidiary with no Asian roots, is known nationally as the top name in Chinese restaurant take-out boxes.
“Most of the time when you pick up a box, it is Fold-Pak,” said Jennifer 8. Lee, a New York Times reporter who mentioned the company in her 2008 book “The Fortune Cookie Chronicles: Adventures in the World of Chinese Food.” (Lee’s middle initial, the number 8, is a Chinese good omen.)
