Iceland Volcano Satellite Images Over Europe

Air travel is getting worse as a result of a large plume of ash and dust has shut down air travel in Europe. Germany has shut down 11 of it’s airports, and London’s Heathrow is not expected to open until Saturday at the earliest. See how this ash plume has moved across Europe with the daily satellite images in the slide show below. Compare this to the NASA image from MODIS of the ash cloud generated locally at NASA Goddard in Greenbelt, MD.
