Irish Car Bomb Drink Recipe
World Thursday, March 18th, 2010Irish Car Bombs are a surprisingly easy drink to make. The time-tested (and easy to swallow) ingredients mix together like a party full of gregarious Irish revelers. The full drink recipe is below, but first a quick history of the drink.
The Irish Car Bomb was first created in 1979 by Charles Burke Cronin Oat, a bartender, instructor and entrepreneur who created the drink while he owned the quintessentially Irish pub Wilson’s Saloon in Norwich, CT. Without going into the full history, the drink originated when Oat took a shot mixed with Irish whiskey floating on top of Irish cream and dropped it into his half-empty glass of Guiness, remarking at the time, “Bombs away!”
