Katie Piper, Injured in Acid Attack, Now Activist For Burn Victims

British model Katie Piper was horribly burned in the face, neck, and hands in 2008 after her boyfriend paid a hit man to throw acid on her face. She endured 31 surgeries at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital by Dr. Mohammed Jawad in an attempt to rebuild her face using a new artificial skin matrix called Matriderm. She has become an advocate for burn victims.
