Value for money and an aversion to overdevelopment are turning Davos and Klosters into the most fashionable resorts in the Alps. Peter Hardy reports.
“Elementary” was not the word that immediately sprang to mind as I descended an icy couloir above Davos in the tracks of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. There are occasional moments in life when you wish you were somewhere – anywhere – but where you are. This was one. Even if the Hound of the Baskervilles had been hot on my heels, I could not have inched my way down any faster.
