Kurt Busch Survives Late Crashes to Win in Atlanta Motor Speedway
Category Sci/Tech, Sports | Monday, March 8th, 2010The Kobalt Tools 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday might be better remembered for the ongoing feud between Carl Edwards and Brad Keslowski than the winner, Kurt Busch. According to The Associated Press, the feud can be traced to a race last year at Talladega, in which Keslowski won after colliding with Edwards. In Atlanta on Sunday, the two made contact twice. The first incident came early and sent Edwards to the garage. He emerged late in the race (and more than 150 laps down from the leaders). With three laps to go, he clipped Keslowski’s car at 190 miles and hour. Keslowski’s car launched into the air, flipped and crashed in front of the grandstands. Nascar ordered Edwards to stop his car. “That’s not cool,” Keselowski said afterward. “He could have killed someone in the grandstands.” Nascar will decide on Monday whether to discipline Edwards.
