Massachusetts Senate cancels casino gambling debate for the day.
Category Economy | Monday, June 28th, 2010The Massachusetts Senate reconvened early this afternoon to debate casino gambling, its fifth day discussing the topic, but before the debate even started, it was stopped by a procedural move.
Senator Susan Fargo, a Lincoln Democrat, held up the proceedings because she and other senators, who oppose allowing the casinos to give away free drinks, want a chance to debate the issue further. The Senate had already authorized free drinks on a voice vote.
