POLK COUNTY, Tenn. – Two rockslides closed a major highway in Tennessee.
Officials were already on the scene of an early morning rockslide Tuesday in East Tennessee when the mountain collapsed – causing a second rockslide.
In just a matter of hours the rockslides closed Highway 64 in Polk County.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
TDOT officials said the road was closed indefinitely, and it could take more than a week to clean up the mess due to several large boulders blocking the highway.
