The Boeing 787 Dreamliner touched down on British soil for the Farnborough International Airshow, the industry’s premier event. It was the plane’s first international test flight, and it landed in Britain direct from Seattle.
The state-of-the-art aircraft, is longer, quieter and more fuel efficient than its predecessors and showcases the future face of British Airways. It features an all-new interior including new World Traveller and new World Traveller Plus cabins and a new in-flight entertainment system.
Emirates has ordered 30 GE90-115B-powered Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The engine order, including spare engines, is valued at $2 billion (USD) list price. Deliveries will begin in late 2011.
