Thai Airways Flight 794, No credible bomb threat: FBI

A Thai Airways flight arriving to Los Angeles last night was the subject of a bomb threat, according to AP.

The threat apparently was scrawled on a bathroom mirror of Thai Airways Flight 794. The discovery of the message prompted authorities to take the aircraft “to a remote area of the airport where passengers exited the plane and [a] search was conducted,” AP writes.

Thai Airways president Piyasvasti Amranand tells AP the threat was written in English with bad grammar. “This must have caused some nuisance to the passengers,” he tells AP by phone from Singapore. “It sounds like it was done by a crazy person.”

Aside from the message on a mirror, the FBI says a search of the plane turned up no credible evidence of a threat to the flight. AP adds “the Los Angeles Fire Department said there were 18 fire trucks and fire engines on standby when the plane landed.”
