The open championship,Day one. A fantastic opening results from Rory McIlroy – Rory McIlroy conducts the Open Championship after giving a sensational opening move 63 at St Andrews.

Rory McIlroy was only one below after 8 but he eagled the 9th after driving the green and birdied 5 of the next 6 holes in a remarkable run. The 21-year-old missed a short birdie putt on seventeen but birdied the end. Padraig Harrington sputtered to a 73 and Darren Clarke was 2 under after fifteen when Graeme McDowell and Gareth Maybin were afternoon entrants. Justin Rose will give the higher results too.
