Tiger Woods handles his irons in U.S. Open practice round, but struggles with woods at Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – On the picturesque seventh hole at Pebble Beach, Tiger Woods unleashed an even prettier shot Monday morning, the ball sailing high into the sea breeze and nearly coming down straight into the cup.

Emerging from a dense fog, it landed with a thud just inches shy of the flagstick on the 109-yard par-3 that hugs the Pacific Ocean, a reminder of just how much Woods dominated this course a decade ago when he won the U.S. Open by 15 strokes.
