Tropical storm flooding in Texas

Authorities are searching for possible victims after two mobile homes and a house in central Texas were swept away by floodwaters dumped by the remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine (hur-MEEN’).
Williamson County sheriff’s Sgt. John Foster said Wednesday officials were trying to account for an unknown number of residents after the bloated San Gabriel River tore through a rural area north of Austin.
Foster said no deaths or injuries have been reported, but that authorities are “preparing for the worst.”
The storm, which was downgraded to a depression Tuesday evening, dumped several inches of rain across central and north Texas overnight, snarling the morning commute in the Dallas area.
Flood warnings have been posted throughout both regions.
