Vermilion Oil rig 380 has exploded at Vermillion Bay in the Gulf of Mexico

The Vermilion Oil rig 380 has exploded 90 miles south of Vermillion Bay in the Gulf of Mexico.
As recently reported on CNN, the 13 people that were on the rig are accounted for. One has been taken to the hospital. Most of the workers are wearing “Gumby” immersion suits and are in the water at this time.. The Coast Guard and other rescue personnel, are on their way to the scene .
Approximately 10:30 a.m, this morning, September 2, the Vermilion rig, which is owned by Mariner Energy, exploded. No reason has yet been given. The rig is still on fire but no other information is available at this time.
